A reader of the Insight suggested to Rabbi Hecht that the significance in describing Moshe's death may lie in that thereby the Torah emphasizes that he was human. We are also thereby informed that the Torah is for everyone and that, as the Rambam states, we can all strive to be like Moshe Rabbeinu. This indeed may be a reason for reading this reminder that Torah was given to human beings on the day that we celebrate our involvment in it. |
